OK, I might as well get to the point today since I still have a lot to do before I get to bed. Unfortunately my week-end is almost to an end and I’ll be back to work tonight. I was up as always bright and early to get my cardio workout in before I meet up with Chris for the strength training part of my day. I knew what I wanted to accomplish and I have to say that I did that and more. I even impressed myself.
and I think that even Paul might be even a little impressed as well. He is tough though.
So this is what I accomplished as far as cardio goes and in this order as well:
- 30 minutes Elliptical Trainer @ 1.64 miles, Level 25, & 840 calories burned.
- 70 minutes Treadmill (Includes a 5 minute warm-up and cool-down) @ 4 miles, 11% incline for 9 minutes and 13% incline for 1 minute-repeated 6 times. Average speed 3.51 mph. & 1283 calories burned.
- 20 minutes Stationary Bike @ 5 miles, Levels 12 & 13, & 177 calories burned.
- 10 minutes Stepper @ Levels 5 & 6, 32 floors climbed & 148 calories burned.
- 2o minutes Treadmill @ 1.06 miles, Average speed 3.20 mph, 5% incline & 235 calories burned.
So the workout lasted 2½ hours & I burned 2683 calories.
I’m still not sure how accurate the calorie burn is. I just go by what data I input into the machine and it calculates it all. Soon I’ll be having a heart rate monitor that will hopefully do a more accurate calorie count. I guess we will soon find out. So I have to say that I am pleased with this workout. I have to say that i believe that the only reason I was able to get that much time in is because I was well rested and I didn’t have to work all night first. So I have a feeling that on Friday I’ll only have time for an hour cardio and hopefully 1½ on Saturday and Sunday. Who know my adrenaline might be still pumped up and I’ll be able to do even more. All I can do is give my best and try harder to make it happen.
After I finished that routine I was able to rest for about 15 minutes before I had to meet with Chris for another good workout. Today we tried something different as far as strength training. We used what they call a TRX Suspension Training. Here’s a video that shows some basic stuff you can do.
We worked the upper body and shoulders as well. There is so much you can do with this that the amount of movements and intensity are so numerous. At first I didn’t care for it and found it a bit awkward but once I got the hang of it I could really tell I was getting a solid workout. then of course in between sets I had to run a lap as well just to keep the heart rate up there.
All in a all a very solid workout day. One I am pleased with immensely.
Time for lunch now. All most forgot to post what I ate and will be eating today.
Some pretty good clean eating along with a perfect workout day can only mean good things.
My Meals for the day are as follows:
Breakfast:
- Egg Whites with onions and pepper
- Cucumber slices
- Oatmeal with cinnamon
Snack:
- Strawberries
- Low Carb protein Shake
Lunch:
- Grilled Chicken with Salsa
- Steamed Cauliflower and Broccoli with Udo Oil and Cayenne pepper
Snack
- Green Peppers
- Chicken Breast
Supper:
- Grilled Salmon
- Brussels Sprouts
Have a great and healthy day everyone…..

I never had either. It’s an Ok workout but I have to admit that I like the free weights better.
I do need to keep an open mind though.

Another incredible workout! Absolutely incredible! I bet you can really tell a difference in your muscle tone.

To be honest with all this hard work I really don’t see much change at all. It’s a bit disappointing but I’ll give it more time. Of course like we talked about before, we do tend to be real hard on ourselves. It can be frustrating though. It seems like Sunday will be the day. So happy for you… it’s your time to shine
But I do agree it was an awesome workout and thanks for that compliment.

I wish I had time for that much cardio (well, honestly, maybe not
) That TRX training looks tough, but fun. Something a bit different. Nice job on the food, but I have to ask, do you ever get bored eating the same things over and over?
It sucks that your weekend is about to end, but at least it is now Tuesday for me
Look at the bright side, only 5 more days to do until you get another.

It really does take a lot of time but time is what I have these days. Especially when I have a couple good days off. It’s hard but the results I am hoping will be well worth it. I really don’t get bored having the same foods. I do try to add more variry of fruit and vegetables and that helps out. I also have a cheat meal on Tuesdays were I spice it up a bit more as well.
Hope you have a great healthy and active week ahead.

That is one load of cardio Rob! I am in awe! The TRX is fun. We don’t have one anywhere near here, but I’ve taken workshops at nat’l conferences…
I can tell you’ll have a great sleep tonight. Rest well and dream fit!

Sleep was good but wish I had more of it
It was a lot of cardio but still feeling good and not to sore. The TRX was OK, but I like free weights better. I will keep an open mind and still give it another try fro Fridays workout. Hope your upcoming week-end is a grand one.

That TRX suspension training looks fun. My old trainer (who doesn’t live here anymore ;( ) has posted about that on his blog too. I’d like to try it out. Sorry your weekend is over. Grateful that my is about to begin–although I’m home sick today. Yes. Sick again. I’m not sure what is up with me this year.
