Some Thoughts for Today 7/14/2009

question markBefore I head off to be today I thought I’d stop in and say Hi! It’s been a very couple of busy days for me and it’s almost time for me to get to bed so I can get up at be at the gym by 5AM.

I’ve also had a couple days of some great workouts and gained some knowledge as well about my meal plan and some other stuff as well.

I’ve talked to Paul, my trainer about my eating last week and we have come to come conclusions to why my weight loss week was a bit low. It seems like I might not have been eating as clean as I thought I was and I forgot that he wanted me to not have any cheat meals for 30 days.  Plus we tweaked my meal plans a bit more and I will now be adding in more fresh and raw vegetables in (Cabbage, Broccoli and Cauliflower) . I am going to try to limit the amount of cooked vegetables as well since that process does take some of the nutrients out of them. Also I will be drinking my natural water and not the carbonated water that I have been. Another thing that goes is the Pam cooking spray because of the process and for other reasons that I can’t remember. I am going to be cooking more with natural Olive Oil and continue to not eat processed foods. Another thing I am going to be putting a hold on for now, and Paul doesn’t know this, is that on Tuesdays I usually eat out with some friends and go to a buffet at M Resorts. I do tend to eat healthy there but I find that a lot of there food has added things that my body don’t need, like salt and sugar. So starting next  I won’t be eating out. I talked with my dear friend and we are going to be taking turns eating at each other places, That way we can prepare healthy food the way that we want to and therefore we will be able to eat more natural, non processed foods. I am sure that this will not only aid in my weight loss but it will be away to save some money and eat healthier at the same time.

I do have to say that I have some great supportive friends here and I am so lucky for that. It helps me out in this journey to be around people that have the same mindset as me when it comes to eating well and exercising too.(Thanks James) It makes this whole process a lot easier and just overall puts me in a better place and in a place were I know I will succeed.

Another thing that I want to mention is that I am again so impressed with both Paul and Chris. They continue to push me, help me learn more about proper nutrition and they take the time out to focus on a plan that will work for me.  They give me there full attention when I need it and I can’t say enough good words about how together, the two of them have and will continue to lead me in the direction that I need to go in order to help me achieve my goals. There awesome people and what I continue to gain from there knowledge and experience, is priceless.

On a final note I have to thank all of you as well for your awesome and continued support. Without all of you cheering me on, giving your advice, comments and support I don’t know  if I could have done this without that. You all are so special to me.

Well i need to get to bed. I will post my workout and eats tomorrow and of course do some blog hopping as well.

Have a healthy and fit evening..

  • Rob, I bet avoiding the restaurant will help more than you think. I often wonder how much trouble I cause myself eating out when I travel. You never know what they are putting in the food.

I love seeing how you are tweaking this. When we aren’t getting the results we expect, it is important to reflect on what we are doing to see if there is something that should be done different or if our expectations are off.

Keep up the good work man, you are really doing great!

    • Thanks my fiend. I do seem to learn something new each day from my trainers. They give me the knowledge and it is up to me what i do with it adn I choose to use it to learn what’s best from me and find new ways to improve my life. This is just one of them. I am sure there are places out there that do serve healthy food and I guess it’s up to me to do the research and find them. In the meantime I am staying away from them. :-)

      • I am sure there are good places, it is just so hard to be sure.

        • That is so true. That’s why I try to research the place on the internet before I even go out to eat. It does help out some. What also helps is word of mouth from others, either on the blog or through friends that have eaten there. It still can be a hit or miss thing though. I guess that’s why for not I’ll just eat at home. I know it’s tougher for you though with all your travels cause you do need and the only option is to eat out. The thing is though you are still making the best choices possible when you do travel and that’s a big thing. So many people don’t, yet you do and the weight loss shows that you ARE TRULY doing awesome in your exercising and your eating.

  • Hey Rob. You continually amaze me with your resilience. Those are some nice tweaks to the clean eating. Enjoy.

    • I amaze myself as well at times :-) I agree they are some good tweaks and I am sure they will help me along. Like I told Paul, I will do whatever it takes to achieve what i want. I am not a quitter or a slacker and I will succeed it making this all work to my advantage.

  • I did a stint as a vegan, and looked into a “raw food” diet. Not as a complete diet, but there are plenty of recipes to try…and a few restaurants here in town that cater to that. Maybe for your outings you could try the GoRaw Cafe or something similiar. You’d still get to eat out, and they have plenty of choices that are healthy, and if I remember right, mostly organic.

    • I have to say that I never heard of that place here. I will look it up and see what it has to offer. it does sound like a good alternative to the buffets hers in Vegas. As you well know they can be a dangerous place to eat at, especially the good ones.
Thanks again for your comment. If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have learned about this. I am so greatly and appreciated for what you say. It’s always inspires me to hear from others and it keeps me moving in a more positive direction. Plus it’s nice that someone locally reads my blog as well.

  • I just decided this week that from now on I eat at home too! There’s just too many problems that come with eating out and eating at other people’s houses. Good luck! You’ll be fine!

    • I really think this will help me out as well. At least we can try and see if it works. That sure can’t hurt. I agree with your statement as well. i think it’s best that we cook are own healthy way becasue sometimes others ways of cooking can hurt us. I know you’ll do fine as well. You really do have such an awesome attitude. it’s always very upbeat and positive and that’s what continues to draw me yo tour blog.

  • Thanks for the kind words rob, It is my pleasure to help…I want to see you succeed!

    paul

    • Thanks man.. I want to succeed just as well and with all that you have to offer, I am sure I will. I just hope to get spreading the word about you and how effective you and your trainers are in getting the results that people want to see in themselves.
